These would be nice to have on hand at Christmas when you have that person you forgot to get something for, or when someone unexpectedly gets you something and you would like to reciprocate.
You could also make up a basket full of things to pamper someone and add the sugar scrub to it!
Gather your supplies:
Gift Container (we used an inexpensive jar)
Sugar
Peppermint Oil
Sunflower Oil
Ribbon
Scoop (optional)
Scrapbook Paper (optional)
A word about supplies:
Peppermint oil can be found at your local health food store.
We love peppermint for Christmas. Health food stores carry an endless array of essential oils. They can also tell you what scents work well together.
Sunflower oil doesn’t have a scent. I also found it at the health food store, but it should be available at grocery stores as well.
The scoop was found in a package of three at a discount store. It certainly isn’t necessary, but isn’t it cute?
Mix together:
3 cups sugar
1 cup + 2 T sunflower oil
About 10 drops of peppermint oil
Depending on the size of your jars, you may be able to get several gifts out of this amount.
Spoon into jars and screw on the lid.
Tie a pretty ribbon around the jar, adding a scoop if you’d like. Make a cute label or add a tag telling what is inside the jar.

I think this will make a perfect gifts for my daughters’ nursery/child care teachers. The scoop add a lovely touch. Where did you get your jar? I like its shape. Thanks.
This looks amazing! Thanks also for putting info about the supplies. I always shy away from these kinds of things because I never know where to find the certain oils and stuff! Thank you!
My daughters love to have “spa day”, and would enjoy making and giving this as a gift to a friend or aunt.
As a teacher, I can say that this would be a perfect gift for teachers. It would also be great as a momento for Holiday guests – very thoughtful gift.
I think this is perfect to place in the guest bed and bath for those visiting our home for the holidays.
We homeschool – but I think this would be a great gift for the teachers in my girls lives outside of school – ie, dance, art, Sunday School, co-op, etc.
