There is a tiny island in Greece called Patmos. It’s approximately 8 miles long and 6 miles wide. It is one of thousands of tiny Greek islands. Maybe you have heard of Patmos, it wouldn’t be anything at all if not for a miraculous event that occurred there thousands of years ago. The island of Patmos is where the apostle John was exiled near the end of his life. This is the island where God gave John a vision about the future: a revelation that we know as the book of Revelation in the Bible.

I was recently blessed with the opportunity to visit the island of Patmos with a group of 52 people from our church, including our pastor. Visiting this island was one of those life-changing moments for me. As we sat at the top of the island, looking down on the same sea John looked at day in and day out, our pastor said something that resonated within my soul. He said, Think how John must have felt being exiled to this tiny island. He must have wondered what God was doing. He must have thought God was through with him. Do you ever feel like that? Do you sometimes wonder if God is through with you? I have felt this way recently. In the last couple of years God has slowly but surely changed how He is using me. Through this time of transition I have often wondered if God is through with me.

God gave me a small revelation on that island where He gave John his big Revelation. He showed me that God is not through with me until He returns. He showed me that as long as I am following His will, spending time growing in His Word and faithfully seeking Him that He would use me. He will use you too! No matter where you are in your journey with the Lord, don’t ever lose sight of the fact that God is not through with you. In fact, just like with John, He may be saving His greatest work in your life for last.

What about you? Are you going through a time of transition in your life? What is God showing you?
