My favorite event that our church provides each year is the Good Friday Multi-sensory Experience. I look forward to this every year. There is nothing else like this time for me. It is such a reflective time and a good way to begin my weekend experience celebrating my risen Savior. You can see exactly what it is here: http://www.hhbc.com/easter.
I hope you will take the time to browse through the page, see the photos and experience it online. It could be a great devotional today to get your focus on the meaning of the holiday. I left the experience in awe of what God was willing to do for me. I was in awe of my Savior Jesus Christ and of His sacrifice, obedience, and love. The Lord also used this time to show me areas in my life that I need to allow Him to work in me to make me more like His Son, Jesus. I will leave you with one of the prayers in the booklet to give you a sense of what one experiences at one of the many stations at the event.
“Father, Your love overwhelms me. I cannot truly imagine the physical, emotional, and spiritual pain that Jesus suffered. Yet, I know Father, that a sacrifice had to be made to redeem me. Thank You for giving Your Son, Jesus, for me to be made right with You. May the thoughts and remembrances I have this day linger on in my mind and heart as I leave this place. May I recall what my salvation cost Your Son. May I too have a heart that quickly forgives. Thank You for reminding me of what Jesus did for me on Good Friday.” (taken from the Henderson Hills Glorious Day booklet)
Blessings my friend,
Lori
