The Graduation party is almost here and you have purchased the food, the paper goods, the drinks and everything else you needed. However, maybe you haven’t thought about the centerpiece for the table. Don’t panic, just relax and begin looking around your home. This part of the preparation can be fun and the easiest part of the party. It doesn’t require buying anything new either (unless you want to add flowers). Take a look at these two centerpieces that would work for your food table and honor the Grad.
Remember how we learned about using a mirror as our base for our centerpiece (from our Skill Session on Hospitality). Here I used a mirror and used greenery from other places around my home to cover most of the mirror.
I used my daughter’s senior picture on one end of the mirror and a picture of the her with her brothers at the other end. I then added a couple of candles and it looked great. Simple, but elegant.
Another idea was to combine elegant and antique. I wanted to use a larger senior picture and something that reminds me of her.
Her favorite flower is the sunflower so we bought two bunches at our local warehouse club a few days before. It was a little bit of a challenge to mix such a casual flower with an elegant look, but it become fun trying to make it work.
I used my candlesticks that I still had out from Easter and surrounded them around the frame and flowers.
I had an antique pail on my back porch that I cleaned up and placed my vase inside to hold the sunflowers. I then added my greenery to hide the base of the bucket. Once I added the food and tablecloth the table looked awesome and was a great reflection of my daughter’s personality.
