Are You in Need of Healing?
In the Bible study, Lord, Heal my Hurts, Kay Arthur states:
"I believe any child of God can be healed of the deepest, most horrendous wounds if she will learn three things:
1. How to apply the balm of Gilead (Word of God).
2. How to follow the Great Physician's instructions.
3. And how to give His medicine time to work."
I don't know about you, but when it comes to healing hurts, I know I have a responsibility to turn to God and His Word for comfort, peace and direction. I know I have to follow His plan and live according to His Word.
However, what I have a problem with is the third directive above...waiting.
- Waiting for His plan to unfold
- Waiting for His medicine to heal.
I desire to be a woman that wholeheartedly trusts God in every and any circumstance of life. And sadly, I can’t say I have always done that. Thankfully, there is grace and there is hope. Grace to cover our impatience. And hope that comes from depending on the Holy Spirit's power, knowing we can do better next time.
Lord, help us to be women that apply Your Word, follow Your Word and wait on Your healing. Father, we are thankful for Your grace when we give in to our heart's desires instead of following hard after You. Help us to DEPEND on the Holy Spirit's power to strengthen us while we wait on You to heal. Amen.
In His Love,
