Give-Love-Serve: Monthly Ideas for Serving Others & Keepers Connection Update
We are going to share a post at the beginning of each month that shares great gift ideas for you to give, love, and share Christ with others. These "purposeful presents" are merely a vehicle for you to model Christ, approach others, and start conversations that build relationships. You are the real gift that is being used by God to share His Ultimate Gift: Jesus Christ!
Irene Delano, last weeks Keepers Connection guest speaker, suggested the following theme, key Scripture, and gift ideas for this month.
February- For the Love of Friendship- John 3:16
Homemade Caramel or Hot Fudge Sauce
- Make a big batch poured into small 4 oz. jars
- Place filled jar in bottom of long clear party bag
- Place apples on top of jar
- Tie with big ribbon, attach recipe
- Give out to co-workers, teachers and/or neighbors
- Get the caramel and hot fudge sauce recipes & directions in our post "Gift Giving 101 Dessert Sauce Recipes"
Host a Friendship Favorite Things Party
- Best outreach ever! Invite 10-20 guests you want to know better.
- Everyone brings two favorite everyday items, wrapped identically.
- You set the budget for the gifts, $5.00 to $10.00 each is good for most everyone.
- Each person draws a number twice to select each gift.
- Stealing the gift on your turn is allowed and boy is it fun!
- All guests must share why it’s their favorite thing.
- The fellowship and thoughtful inclusion is precious!
Aren't these fun and fabulous ideas? And so easy to execute!
So, why are we sharing these ideas with you?
At our wonderful Keepers Connection last week, Irene concentrated on two key Gift Giving 101 concepts. They are Biblical Hospitality and Intentional Gift Giving. Here is an excerpt from her teaching...
What’s Biblical Hospitality?
Biblical Hospitality is opening our hearts as well as our homes; practicing servanthood. When we love and serve others, we are showing our love for God. When we love and serve in our community, we are serving God. “Open Hands, Open Hearts, Opens Doors for Dialogue”. We are modeling the love of Christ.
For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve,
and to give His life as a ransom for many. Mark 10:45
What’s Intentional Gift Giving?
Intentional Gift Giving is gospel shaped outreach. It encourages, inspires, shows thought; it cares, meets needs and feeds families. It includes and loves others with nothing expected in return.
Acts 20:35b …and He Himself said, ‘It is more blessed to give than to receive.’
Just as Lori teaches in Called to be a Keeper (and as many of us know by experience) if we do not schedule and plan, then the busyness of life will take over and our priorities can quickly get out of order.

Thank you Irene for all of these wonderful ideas, insights, and for letting us see the gifts in person at the Keepers Connection!! Plus, our lovely guests had the opportunity to win them as prizes. Just check out some of the winners and their smiling faces!
We are so grateful for ALL of the precious women who joined us in the learning, fun, and fellowship. Thank you for spending your evening with us! And we hope even more ladies can join us at our future Connection events.
And a HUGE thanks to First Southern, their Women's Ministry, the Keepers Prayer Team, and the super volunteers who made this event so great. We praise God for you and His blessings upon us! All glory to Him.
