"Go-To" Prayers on Bad Days
Many of us want to create a haven for our people. But for now, life inside of our homes, can be somewhat busy and chaotic. Some of us are trying to keep littles entertained, some of us are coming alongside of our kiddos with online learning, some of us are juggling work from home and some of us are dealing with challenging job stressors. It’s a lot.
I’ve found that the most helpful thing I can do for my people is to pray over myself and my responses each day. Here are some of my “go-to” prayers:
God, renew my strength each day and equip me with strength for this season.
Help me to put on love, kindness, gentleness and humility today.
Help me to respond more and react less.
Help me to be a loving helper today to my kids.
Help me to be a source of encouragement to my husband.
Help me to enjoy my people and not get stuck in manager mode all day.
Help me to speak words that make souls stronger. Amen.
And the truth is we are going to have bad days. We are going to have days when we react more than we would like. When this happens, let’s accept responsibility and begin again with gentleness.
