God, Help Me Be a Cheerleader for My Husband

Posted by Lori Merrill on 06/07/2019

Lord, give me the desire to be all these things for my husband because I know it is part of Your plans for my marriage!

Strengthen me to do my part to reflect Christ in my marriage, realizing this can only happen as I spend time in Your Word and in prayer with You.

Lord, help me to lay aside my expectations, and enable me to surrender my needs, desires and hopes to You. For You alone will satisfy my heart’s desires.

Help me to bless my husband day by day; and for my actions to bring glory and honor to You. Amen.

Friends, marriage can be difficult. It helps me to see it as a way and means for God to do His refining work in my life. Because when I am impatient, frustrated, have feelings of neglect or loneliness—all are opportunities to turn to God—allowing Him to meet my needs and for Him to redirect my focus.

“When I was a child, I spoke like a child, I thought like a child, I reasoned like a child. When I became a man, I put aside childish things. For now we see indistinctly, as in a mirror, but then face to face. Now I know in part, but then I will know fully, as I am fully known. Now these three remain: faith, hope, and love. But the greatest of these is love.”
‭‭1 Corinthians‬ ‭13:11-13‬ ‭

“I am able to do all things through Him who strengthens me.” Philippians‬ ‭4:13‬

God’s Word is True!
Hope you are blessed,
Lori Merrill
