God is in the Redeeming Business
I love a good redemption story.
Rahab, David, Paul, me, and perhaps you?
We don’t often put our names in the ranks of those famous Biblical people, do we?
But, we should.
When we think of these people, we think of how they were used mightily by God. Sometimes we think on those parts of their story and we forget they made major mistakes and mess-ups as well. Just like me. Perhaps you?
When we think about Christmas, we would be remiss not to think about redemption. That is what this celebration really is about.
We needed to be redeemed so we could have a relationship with our Heavenly Father, a Holy God. God had the only answer that would provide for us. He sent Him in the form of a baby. Jesus.
His name is JESUS and He is a Redeemer. And aren’t we thankful that He redeemed Rahab, David, Paul and people like me, and you?
Father, thank You for sending Your Son Jesus to be our Savior. Thank You for the reminder that You want to use each of us in great ways just as You did with people like Rahab, David and Paul. Thank You Lord, for the gift of Your Son, Jesus. Our Redeemer and friend. Amen.
Our Redeemer—the Lord of hosts is His name—is the Holy One of Israel. Isaiah 47:4
As for me, I know that my Redeemer lives, and at the last He will take His stand on the earth. Job 19:25
