Jesse Tree Ornaments Plus, a Special Keepers Discount

Posted by Lori Merrill & Amanda Gragg on 11/16/2017

One of our family's favorite Christmas traditions was to pull out our Jesse tree every December. This was a 25 daily devotional leading up to Christmas day. Each day had a designated segment of Scripture to be read aloud with a coordinating ornament (with a specific symbol) that was to be hung on the tree. The photo to the right shows our original Jesse Tree that was hand made by me, completely out of felt.

I was introduced to this through a fellow Keepers team member in 2002. Our Keepers team fell in love with the idea and each worked to make one of our own. I used this every December for our morning devotional and to teach my children (and me) more about the thread weaving the story of Christ throughout the Bible. I loved this tradition and wanted to keep using it even after they were way too old for it...just to read the stories. The kids loved to guess which symbol was representative to what we read and we would have to keep track of whose "turn" it was each day to "hang" it from the felt tree.

So, I was super excited to find out that this idea has been modified and updated so that families everywhere can use this to teach and learn more about the true reason for the season! Amanda contacted me to see if I would be interested in sharing this idea with you. The ornaments are still hand made, but they don't have to be done by you! She has hand painted each one on wood. Oh how nice these would have been all those years ago!

Amanda is offering a special 10% discount for those of you who use the checkout code KEEPERS. Plus, she is offering this discount through the end of December. And what's great about Amanda and her little Etsy shop is that she offers the ornaments in three different options:

  • The Jesse Tree set consists of 25 ornaments that coincide with Scripture on a bookmark that is provided with the set.
  • This set is a great way for a family with children of all ages to anticipate and celebrate Christ at Christmas.
  • The ornament set consists of 24 ornaments that coincide with the Jesus Story Book Bible.
  • This set is a great way for a family with children 8 and older to anticipate and celebrate Christ at Christmas.
  • The set also includes a bookmark to identify which story to enjoy each day during advent.
  • The Jesse Tree ornament set consists of 25 ornaments that coincide with the book Unwrapping the Greatest Gift: A Family Celebration written by Ann Voskamp.
  • This set is a great way for a family with children 8 and older to anticipate and celebrate Christ at Christmas.

You can read all the other details and place orders at The Okie Giraffe. Please note, the books are not included.

I am so excited to offer these to you because I want to help families grow closer to God and each other. So, I hope this helps to make your December even more meaningful as you focus on the real reason for the season!

In His Love,
