Moms in Prayer Group
When I think of priorities and how we are to live those out, I think of prayer. I think of its power and importance. I can't make God my priority by "seeking Him first" without talking to Him daily--thanking Him and asking for His divine work in my life and in the lives of those I love.
There are many avenues in which our prayer life may manifest itself, but nothing can replace our individual one on one time with our Lord. However, there is such a sweetness about gathering and praying with others, especially those that are in the same stage of life as us.
I have had the privilege of doing this throughout the years, in different seasons, by joining a local group with other women called Moms in Prayer. This wonderful ministry has been around more than 25 years and God has used it mightily for His kingdom. My friend, Kendra Rock, leads our region and I invite you to read more below about this powerful ministry. I encourage you to join a local group or start one of your own!
As the Keeper of your own home you know the next generation faces many challenges! I have experienced the joy of replacing anxiety with peace when I pray scripturally and specifically for my children.
I began praying in a Moms in Prayer group when my sons were in elementary school. They are now married and established in their careers. It has been such a blessing in my life to join with other mothers to pray for my children.
There are many promises from God encouraging us to pray. One of my favorite verses is Psalm 5:3 “In the morning, O Lord, you hear my voice; in the morning I lay my requests before you and wait in expectation.” I have seen many answers to prayers over the years and have made lifelong friends as I have prayed weekly with other moms.
I now serve as the Southwest Regional Director for Moms in Prayer. I want to invite you to join with other praying moms to pray for an hour each week for your child and his/her school. Visit our website at http://www.momsinprayer.org to find out if there is a group for your child’s school. You are also welcome to contact me (Kendra Rock) at mailto:[email protected].
