Obedience in the Small Things
Whatever God calls us to do He will equip us to do. And though a small gesture may not seem like much, we never know what God is doing behind the scenes in a person’s life or in someone’s (or our own) circumstances.
So, whether it is taking the time to make a call, write a note, give a particular amount of money, or share our talents/gifts...don’t negate it as though it doesn’t matter. It matters to God that we responded in obedience. And we never know what our response plays in the grand scheme of life and in His sovereign plan.
That person you smile at, say a kind word to or offer to help—it may give them hope or help them see a little of Jesus today. Friends, our job as believers is to look and act a little more like Jesus each day. And isn’t that what our world needs anyway? Think of it this way: someday we will be with our Father in heaven and we will get to see what He called us to do and how our responses were a part of His plan in accomplishing His works on this earth. Oh what a day that will be as we praise and worship our Perfect Father!
May we bless others today,
For the report of your obedience has reached to all; therefore I am rejoicing over you, but I want you to be wise in what is good and innocent in what is evil. Romans 16:19
