Our Home: A place of safety

Posted by Lori Merrill on 05/01/2020

Friend, this may be the last prayer you feel like praying right now, considering you have spent so much time together, confined within the walls of your home for at least a month. But, could I encourage you to read on before you move on?.
.
God never expects perfection from us or from those in our home. However, He does want us to provide a loving and safe environment for our family. If you grew up in a home of chaos, tension or even violence then you will understand how important it is to be aware of the atmosphere of your home. Children need to feel safe. Our family needs to be able to relax in their house. Home should be their favorite place to be.
.

We, as women, are usually the ones that feel the responsibility for the beauty of our home. And no, I am not talking about the decor, although it could include that. I’m talking about the things we all can do to make our homes a place of safety, a refuge, and a place where all who enter know that Jesus Christ is Lord of our lives.
.
A place like this is achievable because it isn’t based on what money can buy. What makes your home beautiful is Christ being evident to all who live there and to all who enter. Let’s pray for one another in this area and ask God to make us aware of what changes we can make. To read more about this, you can snatch a copy of our Called to be Keeper Bible study available in the shop.
