Pray it, Don't Say it

Early in our marriage I would speak my mind freely about everything under the sun. Thankfully I was exposed to
1 Peter 3:1 and began praying that I would make changes to live according to this truth in God’s Word. I can attest to the fact that this verse had the most profound and life-changing impact on our marriage: “Likewise, wives, be subject to your own husbands, so that even if some do not obey the word, they may be won without a word by the conduct of their wives.”
After learning this truth and trying to apply it to my daily life I adopted this motto of “Pray it, don’t say it!” It was amazing how such a simple truth can change the trajectory of your marriage and life! But it did. .
For me to begin to pray about concerns, opinions and disagreements instead of speaking them first, was a great self-discipline to implement and helped our marriage. Of course, we can’t do it without the help of God. (It was helpful in many other relationships in my life as well).
If you need help in this area let’s band together in prayer. Leave us a comment and we will happily pray for you!
In His Love,
