Precious Present Moments
Too often, we get so busy, burdened, consumed and entangled with the activities of life—multitasking, caring for family, planning for the next thing that we neglect to recognize what we have in the “precious present moment”.
Several years ago, back in the era of cassette tapes, I was struggling with stress and anxiety. I had a demanding ministry position in our church; was raising three children; helping my husband with his business; trying to keep house and striving to be the best in everything. I was on a performance treadmill that I didn’t know how to get off of. I heard a radio ad by a specialist who deals with stress and anxiety, took a risk, and purchased a set of her coaching tapes on relaxation, dealing with difficult people and letting go of things I could not control. The Holy Spirit used these coping tools and helped me apply God’s truth to my life. My biggest takeaway was learning to enjoy the “precious present moments”.
Dear mommas, grab your Bible and sit down at Jesus’ feet. Read Matthew 11:27-30: "All things have been committed to me by my Father. No one knows the Son except the Father, and no one knows the Father except the Son and those to whom the Son chooses to reveal him. Come to me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest. Take my yoke upon you and learn from me, for I am gentle and humble in heart, and you will find rest for your souls. For my yoke is easy and my burden is light."
Let Holy Spirit minister to your soul. Do nothing but take in this “precious present moment” to take Him in. Close your eyes, open your heart and listen to what He has to say to you right now. Breathe. Rest in Him. Relish in the kind, comforting love He is covering you with. Be held and enjoy your “precious present moments” in Him.
