Maybe you have a child that struggles to be kind consistently?
Maybe you have a child that struggles to obey or likes to argue a bit?
Maybe you have a child that struggles to get along with his/her siblings?
I get it. I really do.
As a young mom, I would think to myself "Why can't you get this?" or "Why can't you be kind?".
But I've come to learn that shaping a child's heart can be a long term project.
There can be long days. There can be long seasons.
Keep pouring on love to this child, mama, even on the days when you don’t feel like it.
Keep looking for glimpses in your child that are praiseworthy.
Keep drawing near to your child because he/she needs you.
Keep praying for your child to grow in self-control, kindness and love.
Keep praying for yourself to train with kindness, gentleness and love.
Your labor is not in vain. The Lord is with You. And the Lord handpicked you to parent this child.
