To Love Like Christ
Sometimes it can be difficult to express love to others. I’m talking about people we have to interact with even though at times, we would rather not. And let’s be honest here, for some that would be extended family, co-workers, people in the church, or at times, family inside your home. It’s just hard sometimes-because of weariness, a conflict or they might have a personality that is similar to sandpaper. 😉
To love, like Christ loved, isn’t easy. In case you aren’t sure what true love looks like then look at how Jesus loved:
His Love is…washing the feet of the one who would soon deny knowing Him.
His love is…washing the feet of the one He knew would betray Him.
His love is…reaching over and healing the severed ear of the one who would deliver Him to the cross.
His love is…taking the punishment of billions and billions, knowing that many will never receive or accept His love.
His love is…dying on the cross for the sake of others.
His love is...loving all others to the end.
Lord, we thank You for Your love for us and ask that You perfect that love in us, so that we reflect You. Help us to remember the example of Jesus when we are tempted to not show love to others. Amen.
…let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, keeping our eyes on Jesus, the founder and perfecter of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross and despised the shame and is seated at the right hand of the throne of God. Hebrews 12:1-2
In His Love,
